the illustrations below by WILHELM M.BUSCH are from a short story compilation THE WORLD’S BEST CIRCUS STORIES ( DIE SCHOENSTEN CIRCUS GESCHICHTEN DER WELT ) edited by UTTA DANIELLA, published in 1980 by wilhelm heyne verlag, munich. these late BUSCH illustrations were always my favorites, they look so light, so easily done with the experience of a whole life.
