i like the soft athmosphere despite the hard edges. also, the patterning is a bit of a master stroke – keeping the illusion of depth despite (through?) the nonlinear scaling of the patterns. is there any reason for keeping a stripe of background pattern larger than the pattern closer to the viewer or was this done by intuition alone?

i just am not sure how august-y it is 🙂 i somehow have august linked with glaring sunshine and far too high temperatures (im a winter person born in august – doomed to overtempered birthdays unless i move to the southern hemisphere).

from hans –
when I build a design like that I don’t use too much logic, like the right size of stripes or dots. it is fantasy after all. and about the haze, maybe I am too much
influenced by the asian rainy season now…

Hi hans ,
very soft & gentle feel with the matured color palette .. I like the ease & looseness in your works.. reminds me of some childrens illustrated books for some reason ..
Also got a bit late , but an honor to have ur comment & appreciation on my blog .. thanks a ton!
