chinese art 2

again some more illustrations by two chinese master-artists. I apologize that I am not able to give you the names, unfortunately I can’t read the chinese language. maybe someone out there who recognizes the artwork can help.


according to pinoc and Zhiqi the first artist’s name is DI Shaoying and the second one is Shi Dawei. thank you very much for the information…

The first artist’s name is DI Shaoying and the second one is XIA (that’s his last name, the first name is hard to read).

yeah, the first 2 are from Di (the surname) Shaoying, i did not know him until seeing this post, according to my google search, he’s a Chinese painting master born in 1957, who’s specialized in traditional Chinese watercolor paintings; the following set of paintings have only got the ink stamp for signature so hard to read the name, they’re beautiful and unique too though; thanks again, Hans, for posting these!

Hi Hans,

‘Xia’ isn’t the name of the first artist. It means summer, which is indeed a common Chinese surname), but within the context it only meant that the painted was done in the summer of 2000.

The artist is 施大畏 Shi Dawei, born in 1950, and here’s his official website: http://shidawei.artron.net/main.php.
